EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230: The 2027 Digital Manual Revolution

Pillar 2: 10-Year Online Availability

Digital instructions must remain accessible online throughout the expected lifetime of the machinery, and for at least 10 years after the machinery has been placed on the market. Hosting on unstable or temporary file links is strictly non-compliant.

Pillar 3: Downloadable & Printable Format

The digital instruction manual must be presented in a format that allows the user to download the instructions and save them on an electronic storage device, as well as print them out at any time.

Pillar 4: The 30-Day Paper Fallback

If the buyer requests a paper manual at the time of purchase, the manufacturer must provide it free of charge within 30 days. Furthermore, for machinery intended for non-professional consumers, essential safety information must still accompany the product in physical paper format.
